All district price control committees are being made more effective and purposeful in all district headquarter of Punjab. The Punjab government has directed to improve the working relationship among the district and sessions judges, district co-ordination officers (DCOs), and district police officers (DPOs) for activating the district price control committees enabling them to maintain the prices of articles of daily-use in the province.

Sialkot District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Syed Tahir Raza Naqvi stated this while presiding over the District Price Control Committee meeting held here on Tuesday.

He directed the officers concerned that price-checking system should be made more effective to keep the prices of articles of daily-use at reasonable level in all four Tehsils of Sialkot.

He also directed the officers concerned that special step should also be taken to discourage the trend of price-hike in all districts of the province.

It was also decided in the meeting that market committees of Sialkot, Sambrial, Daska, and Pasrur Tehsils of the district would fix the prices of articles of essentials on daily basis.

In addition to this, the display of rate lists of essential commodities at every shop should be ensured and the markets should be suddenly checked for assessing the prices of articles of daily-use, the sources said.

The DCO also directed that availability of Sasta Ata should be ensured at Juma and Itwar bazars in the district.
